![]() Very rare that both cards go bad but its possible. So did you individually put each GTX 480SC in the PCI-E slot where you always put them and test them one by one than put the GTX 470 and it worked no problem (Fan RPM readings and Full Control)?.sorry I caught your remark earlier about the Bios and did the Bios match up from each of the 480s? Also are there any fan readings (RPM) from any of the 480s you can't control? If you're having any issues always do one card at a time or use one than the other one for a few days if not a week each to be sure. Hope I can help you out with this matter. why cant i control my gtx 480 whats the big difference. My 2 gtx 480s arnt working but I put my daughters gtx470 evga into my computer and it works fine. I have not had good experiences with Nvidia tools and Precision X seems geared towards the 600 series, I don't own a single MSI product but I prefer Afterburner for oc'ing my cards. ![]() If that fails I would reinstall windows and start over from the beginning "Nice and Clean". If you get errors with servers kicking you out while gaming with "disallowed driver" or other errors, open afterburner, click on the small icon by the clock as shown, this willl open Rivatuner (part of afterburner)Ĭlick the bar to turn Stealth Mode ON (it's off by default) it seems like Punkbuster thinks that Afterburner's overlay is some sort of a hack on some systems. you can move the boxes to set the fan to speed up at a lower temp ( don't forget to hit apply when done ) In order to setup a dynamic fan profile click on the user define button, then settings and then the fan tab. If you click the "AUTO" button as seen below you should have manual control of the slider, don't forget to hit apply when done, your fans will then be locked at that speed as long as afterburner is open so you should also click on the apply overclock at startup in the lower left under profile, then it will go to that speed whenever you start your rig. Download and install the latest version of Afterburner from here įirst I would remove all the programs, Afterburner, Precision X, and NVidia Tools ( might not hurt to run driver sweeper and reinstall the video drivers too ). I didn't came here with the knowledge of how and by whom the app was being developed.Hi Alan, i'm not sure if this is any help to you but here goes. I'm sorry for the bumpy start we had on tbis thread. I'm assuming MSi / guru3D is paying you to develop the app at this point since it's simply the best tool that exist to tinker with GPU.Īnyway, I just hope one day you consider fixing it. The issue on your hand, it's your code, it's your app. Regardless, I reported the issue, hundreds of others thread posted in the past 3 months about this specific issue can be found on Reddit and if you'd care about your very large userbase you'd look into it, i'm confident it's not something that require weeks to fix. Why would you put setting like "third-party" voltage control if that ain't to support other brand? Thanks for your reply and have yourself an EPIC day.Ĭlick to expand.OKAY, if you say so, but this is the information provided in the first paragraph of msi.com/page/afterburner and it's also been used by PC Enthusiast as the defacto Monitoring Tool for the past 10+ years and is known around the globe to be working with all brand. I'd really love to be able to monitor, control and define a custom fan curve by using MSi Afterburner ! Unfortunatly, ASUS software have always been pure garbage. Those version of AMD Radeon Software work flawlessly with MSi Afterburner fan control :Įither AMD come up with a fix for AMD Radeon Software or guru3D/MSi come up with a fix for MSi Afterburner.Įlse it's never gonna be fixed unless you use old driver version.ĭoes anyone have any idea how can I fix this? I don't want to use ASUS GPU Tweak II. Those versions of AMD Radeon Software doesn't work with MSi Afterburner fan control : The issue lie within AMD Radeon Software v20.2.1 released on February 3th, 2020. Performance vBIOS mean my fan is always spinning, even at idle on desktop with no 3D app running.Ī recent AMD Radeon Software driver release broke the fan control with MSi Afterburner for this specific GPU SKU.Īfter doing some research and test on my own i've finally found the culprit for fan control issue with MSi Afterburner on AMD GPU. My vBIOS switch on the GPU PCB is set to "P" for performance. That being said, i'm capable of monitoring and controling the speed of my fan with ASUS GPU Tweak II v2.1.7.1 : GPU Fan tachometer, RPM : 0 (all the time) In MSi Afterburner v4.6.2 Hardware Monitor all I get is this : I'm unable to control and monitor the fan speed on my AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT with MSi Afterburner v4.6.2
